I think it suits you.  It will make your eyes really stand out.

Its just a shame my hair is nowhere near as healthy as hers.

I am probably going to have to get a lot cut off and some manic advice on GOOD product from the hair dresser.

I think the color looks fine with your face, but if the hair coloring compound you will need to use to get it has peroxide or ammonia or any other chemicals that can harm your hair,
I think you shouldn't use it right now because it was not that long ago that you were saying your hair was damaged from too much processing and you were tempted to chop it all off.

I see that you plan to seek professional advice, so that's a good thing.

tbh if thats the philosophy i'm going to live by either im stuck with the hair unless I want it darker, which I don't.

I really don't see how this is going to be a problem. My hair is blonde at the moment. Why will they put more peroxide in it?

The only way my hair wil lbe fixed is if its chopped off. No matter how long I wait its not going to get less damaged UNLESS I chop it off.

Looks nice, but do a few strand tests first.

*icequeen shudders remembering her last color change experiment* :zombiefuck:

That colour looks really nice. Maybe the hairdresser with trim any split ends you might have. That makes a huge difference to the condition of your hair imo.

I think it would really suit you.

:agreed:
When I first looked I thought it was you already with that colour.

Agree with Ren and Callaway, first colour is better.
Title: Re: More hair bullshit, what a surprise
Post by: renaeden on December 21, 2009, 03:35:26 AM
I think you would look great with that first colour. It would be something different and I think you would still conform to society's standards.

I hope you do dye your hair that colour, I think it really suits you.

tbh what I want deep down is this.

The reason im fat is because I havent been expressing my true self properley. The only reason in the world I would dye my hair brown as opposed to the attached pic is the reaction from society.

I think I understand what you mean. It is hard to please everyone and yourself at the same time. It is difficult to have what you want without all the unwanted attention. Like if I wanted to dye my hair blue, I know I would have to put up with comments from my family. I would also have people judging me because of what I look like. Some people be fine with doing it and go ahead and try it for real. I think I would feel uncomfortable.

Maybe the small (well, kind of big) change of having your hair brown/red, will enable you to make some more changes gradually.

Im really sorry for all the hair bullshit guys and girls.

I am always so lost. I have such a split personality, half of me wants like never before to dye my hair crazy colours and get tatts an piercings, the other half wants to conform to societies standards.

Both of these people are me. Both of them will always be me. If society wasn't so judgemenatal I would go with the former. Because that is MORE me.

UGH!

Whatever you do in life you can bet there id someone somewhere and probably more than one and probably close to you that will find fault in it. Be the best YOU that you can be. You can only control  you. You only need to please you and if at the end of the day you can live with that, that's all you need to do.
I am not going to align myself after this with the part of society that you see as judging your hair. Damn!
Title: Re: More hair bullshit, what a surprise
Post by: El on December 21, 2009, 01:23:59 PM
As far as the other half- tats and piercings- not all tats (and not all piercings) have to be in places where society CAN see and judge.

The reason im fat is because I havent been expressing my true self properley. The only reason in the world I would dye my hair brown as opposed to the attached pic is the reaction from society.
If being "fat" is what makes you unhappy, and if you are "fat" because you don't express you self the way you want to be, the solution seems simple.

Go for it. No matter what you do, what you wear and who you talk to, there will be people judging on it, and there will be people judgemental. There will be people making up gossipy stories, and others will make new stories. It will happen, no matter what you do. If you make yourself unhappy by trying to prevent that, you only make it worse.

Be who you are, unless it goes against ethics or is highly impractical. Would the way you look make you lose your job or so, you might need to compromise, for the rest there is no need to do that.

^I should adopt this attitude as well. It doesn't matter what I look like really, some of the people at uni are way out there.

I hope you post a picture of your hair when it is done. :)

I usually fly under the radar, appearance-wise, but there is a small part of me that wishes to go all flamboyant with radical outfits, and wild colours, and all that. I let out my inner rebel with silly earrings and socks that don't match my shirt, but that's about it.
Title: Re: More hair bullshit, what a surprise
Post by: Callaway on December 21, 2009, 10:23:16 PM
I usually dress relatively conservatively, I think.

I almost always wear comfortable shoes, as opposed to fashionable ones, though.

Today, for example, I'm wearing a black dress with one black Easy Spirit running/walking shoe and my ever so lovely black cast boot, which I got back into just today.

I thought the colourful hair looked great. Wonder how it will look on you. Imagine you waking and seeing yourself the way you want to be. Good start of the day. Sign of taking your own needs and longings serious too. (Sorry Psych mode :p )

I have had clothing that made me stand out. Going for what I liked and not caring about fashion. Now I'm in a time where I can't be really bothered, still not going for fashion, but settling for affordable and decent without taking time to look for what I would like more for the same price. That might change back again, though I'll never like shopping.

I thought your hair was very blonde? Wouldn't colours look good in it (blue, pink, purple I mean)?

Whichever you decide, I think it is important for you to go through with it because it is a start to being the way you want to be.

One of the things I like least about the field I'm going into is that there is no way I'll ever be able to wear all my earrings in at work. I've accepted that, but damn, do I miss them.

I agree with Elle. Your tats and piercings don't have to be visible to the majority. My tat will be on my back, between my shoulder blades. My nose ring will be visible but I'm starting out with a stud. Once that heels I'll switch to a hoop.

Are you part of the aspie council?

:LMAO:

There are apsies in the world that can lead, but most NT's are far better leaders, so I guess my idea may be wrong, but some aspies are genuine, and I'm an extraordinare aspie, but I have never met any like-minded people before, I was hoping some of them were on WP, but no. There MUST be someone like me SOMEWHERE. Back to the topic, I'd say I have many great ideas, if someone else were to become leaders, I would offer my ideas to them immediately.

You'd look good with some piercings I recon CG. You should post pics of them when you get them. Im going to get some fake lip rings and a fake nose ring first to see how I like them.

Thanks. I will definitely post pics when I get them done. The nose will be first because I can't afford the tat yet. That will be later in the year. Probably doing the nose ring in the spring.I'm waiting until EBM comes up here so he can be there when I get it done.

We met on WP nearly 2 years ago. He had the impression I was a lot closer to his age, and he was shocked as all-get-out to find out I'm a middle-aged, married woman dragon with children dragonets nearly the same age as him. Except for the fact that he's a draconian male (obviously), he's similar enough to what I was like in my 20s that it's like talking to my younger self. That's why I adopted him. As I say, there is a great deal more to his banishment from WP than what you see here (though he tells a very entertaining story, bless him :) ). Dragons are renowned for their storytelling skillz, and Kali is no exception. Mama is proud of him.

EDIT: What I've said above, there? The part where I'm a dragon and he's my dragon son is true, but the rest of it is made up. :hide:
