there's a bonfire here i might try and get to but i dunno if that's tonight or at the weenend
gonna get some fireworks and set them off in the garden anyway

this is only my second bonfire night of not being depressed since i was a kid, so i still enjoy all these things i missed when i was younger :P
totally forgot about it this morning. i have lectures in a bit and finish at 5, so i'll see what happens. i'll make sure we get fireworks at least

What is the purpose of bonfire night? I know you don't need a purpose to burn things (that's just plain fun) but why a specific night? Is that a UK thing?

yea it was - they caught guy fawkes leaving gunpowder under parliament to blow up the king
guy fawkes and the other conspirators were catholic - james the first was protestant
apparently they used to burn effigies of the pope on the bonfire at one point lol
