Title: First start new toy
Post by: Parts on October 11, 2009, 12:35:02 PM
My trail start of a forge I have had a long time but never used.  It's too small and low.  I think I'll put an electric blower on it but wanted to try out the old way first. Maybe keep it as is for a  portable.  Cranking it is a lot of work

You could take the crank off and chuck an electric drill up to it.

That would be an easy one :)  Still needs other work too.

Some more and a poker I made while testing it to move the charcoal around in it out of scrap

3!  One to screw it in, and one to keep track of the billing.

Might want to scale it up a bit depending on what you want to do with it, I sold the one in the vid because it was too small I had and have a larger home built one now still using charcoal or coal.  I did make one similar to the one in this vid to cast aluminum but used a cement based refractory  with bentonite and perlite that could run on charcoal or propane

Leaving behind your dreadful understanding of legal education in this country, I ask again if this is still something you are looking into.  I can help you on your way, you just need to get the other half of that Geology degree first.

Blacksmithing has become some what popular, I have seen more and more people asking for tools and the prices on them going up at the market.  I think it has something to do with people working in an office all day wanting to do something different and with the smoke, fire and banging it's about as different as it gets :2thumbsup:

It seems like a great stress reliever.
