Title: talking to a wall...
Post by: Lucifer on August 15, 2006, 02:00:20 AM
so, ta very to nomaken for this:

And... Quirky, do you think that eventually you will find a way to tell him he is an idiot so he'll believe you?  Because if you are just bitching at him for fun, then please continue, but he wouldn't believe how stupid he is even if god himself explained it to him.

now, i believe our mission is to answer his question.  so here's where we discuss how to do this very thing - explain to flo that he is, in fact, and contrary to his own over-inflated opinion of himself, an idiot.

as someone who works in behaviour stuff, i reckon i should shut up, cos i'll already have certain wasy of looking at/working with this, and i'd like other people's ideas before i wade in with mine - always open to new suggestions.  ;D

I'm just concerned that quirky is getting more and more pissed off about something that isn't going to change.  I've for the most part simply ignored flo and I find i'm a lot happier that way.  But if she is just bitching for fun and isn't just getting needlessly pissed off, then by all means, go ahead.

fair comment.

i'm actually serious, though - i'd like to see people's suggestions.  call it professional interest.

I'd settle for being able to correct the following delusions:

- that he has superior social skills/ is less disabled than the rest of us, despite the mountain of evidence suggesting that this is in fact complete bollocks

- that he is not autistic, despite blablabla

- that it is possible to 'burn' people with misspelt, incoherent, unfunny babbling - which generally bears little relation to the target's characteristics which might be 'burnable', particularly if you then need to explain why your gibberish burns the target. This is just asking for small children to point and laugh at you.

seriously. if anyone can get these truths into his head, half of the 'bullying' would stop overnight as he would become much less irritating to people.

Quoted for truth.

hmmmm.  how are we going to do that, was my original question.  my first suggestion would be a stout piece of 4x2, but i'm not sure i could control myself sufficiently just to knock some sense into his noddle, rather than cause massive and permanent brain damage.

...

sorry?

what do you mean, "how would we know?"  ???

First of all, I'm only reading this thread because it' in the Over-Forties Forum, of which I am a member, and I assume  this thread is here because those of us in the category are wiser and therefore able to have a reasonable discussion on the subject.

I'm quoting Nomaken for agreement.  I don't read his posts, and waste a lot less time that way.  So maybe I'm not even qualified to comment, because I don't pay attention to him. But from what I've skimmed, I think he's a harmless, immature narcissist, for what it's worth.

Jeez, how embarassing.  I was of course referring to Flo, not Nomaken.  I'll just shut up and go crawl back in my hole...

Don't shut up and don't crawl back into your hole.  I understood what you meant.
