What's with the new attitude? As i recall you were one of the more anal tetchy members at wp, though posted 'reasonably' intelligent posts. Now you're all "Yo soul sista nothing get's in my way fo shizzle". Are you on heavier drugs now is that it?
-
yeah, that's it.
-
yeah, that's it.
It's nice to be right again. ;D

i'm sure. ;D

wasn't that rather the point of Intensity, to start with? bit peevish of you to moan about it, when it's what you intended, isn't it?

Apparently mcjagger felt it would lead to deeper posts, though he was fooling himself he wanted a place to do what wp termed as 'trolling behaviour' as much as i did and aspies (apart from me) arent exactly known for their deepness apart from when talking about themselves.
Who said i was moaning? I was just wondering why the sudden change. It's very rare to see quite such a shift, but im told women are better at putting up different fronts than men anyway, particularly one as straight down the line, in your face as me.

we're all different, and those of us who are older and forced into complicated social situations have to learn how to build up layers, or die in the attempt.

maybe. but then, women are expected to put up different fronts, more so than men. we often can't get away with saying, doing or being exactly who we are or want to be. and it's similar for aspies, although in different ways.
it cuts both ways - let's face it, men are supposed to be superheroes and emotion-free. developing different fronts is a very useful tool to have, to interact with other people. it's fucking exhausting, though, which is why i'm becoming more and more of a recluse - both socially and in my work - as i get older.

Oh yeah, sometimes i behave exactly as the person im with because i feel their feelings very strong but that's kinda silly as we need a strong sense of self to not be walked upon. Though im not naturally strong so i have to wind myself up to stand up for myself irl and then go over the top. I know what you mean about being a recluse but its bad not to see people and go out and leads me to depression melt-downs but then when i go out i get funny looks and cant seem to function quite like everyone else so i tend to prefer my own company and i dont like being different. It's between a rock and a hard place.
-
yep. fucking nightmare.
sounds like it's about getting a balance, for you. oh joy - that's a fun one. i can only do that when i'm on form.
-
Im thinking on taking up golf. It's being out and about but not too social.
-
expensive, though, isn't it? although possibly not in scotland - there about a bajillion courses up there, aren't there?

It is the home of golf after all. I think a lot of clubs are expensive and a little 'exclusive' for my tastes. Though equal opportunity acts has forced them into allowing women and that might slow me down and make it a more dangerous pursuit as there will be balls flying everywhere. Might find a cheap pitch n put as i am just starting out.
-
now i'm depressed. i looked at pictures of someone really pretty and feel so ugly. :( i know that's stupid.
anyway, eamonn, i change all the time, i have some identity issues because of it actually, but i've lately come to accept it more, i just constantly change and there is nothing wrong with it. we're supposed to grow as people. yes i was more anal on wp because that was a million years ago and i've since then grown up a lot. life is hard when you have to learn all the rules the really hard way, but you learn to also never stagnate too much and to go with the flow when you change, that's what life is about. though i did leave WP partly for the stupid censorship, i had my post edited without my permission and they didn't even let you cuss.

But you're pretty.
Do you avoid mirrors too?
-
thanks. :eyelash: are you flattering me again?
i don't avoid the mirror but i avoid the camera. i looked at someone's pictures who has perfect skin and perfect teeth and i felt bad because i always turn out terrible in pictures. especially because of my skin. but oh well.
why do you avoid the mirror then?
-
cos it shatters.
milla, i think you're ihana, kunniallinen, pusipusi. :-* :eyebrows:
(did i get that right? :-\ )
oh, and i need some more words - watch out for a PM coming near you, soon. ;)
-
lol
that's so cute. :)
pusipusi to you too. :-*
-
:eyelash:

I am scared of going into one of those skin care places because I fear they will never let me out again.
I thought you looked good in that picture you posted. I have only seen the one, though.

thanks. i had make up on in the picture. my skin is splotchy and spotty. i have acne or something. i'm 24 and i get zits. ::)
i thought i saw a picture of you. your skin looked fine.
-

I'm 35 and STILL get zits. :'(
-
28 here and I still get zits every now and then. You are attractive Milla, don't worry so much.
-
i'll try. :-*
i think late-age zits is an aspie trait, wouldn't you say?

Yes, that's what I do. Concealer is my friend. I have Scottish background, my skin is not made for the Australian sun. So there is a lot of damage already. I am 30 and get pimples all the time. Grr.
-
i'll try. :-*

I don't know about that, but if you want to talk about late age, I get them, too.
:grrr:
-
i think lots of aspies have thick skin.

I didn't care too much for WrongPlanet.net. I only have a couple posts there and don't remember my username since I don't check there anymore.
Not that I'm against anybody on there...I just wanted a board more like this.

You're not missing much there.................... these days. ::)

I popped my pimples all the time as an adolescent and still do whenever I grow a zit once in a blue moon. Does anyone believe in the theory of consuming too much oil from foods that cause the zits? I'm not so sure if I do. :-\

................. and what does this have to do with the price of tea in China?? :scratchhead: :scratchhead: :scratchhead: :scratchhead: :scratchhead:

I agree. It's mostly posting questions, answers and facts without getting real interaction, and the innocent people get banned from there.

I was just curious since my parents told me this throughout my adolescent years as I'm sure other parents nag the same words to their own children. It's just like hearing my dad telling me to quit drinking so much regular soda since it contains sugar but I always let it go from one ear out the other.
-
My skin's oily, with enlarged pores. It runs in the family, and it doesn't cause me any problems.
-
superpete.

I think it is to do with hormones, mainly.
-
thanks. :eyelash: are you flattering me again?
Of course not. Only telling the truth.
why do you avoid the mirror then?
I don't. Not at all.
I meant because of
avoiding the camera.
-
i think lots of aspies have thick skin.
Or at least oily, given all the zit talk.

No, I don't think that's it. There is a bacteria that is more active on the skin of people who are more prone to acne. I took an antibiotic called Minocycline, which cleared my acne up.
