Along with half a million other people, yeah :D

Doesn't look like Pea, Callaway
I think it's funny that was your first thought.
Still, how "brave" would it have been if Pea's mother or sister had gotten blown up if the "ex-public-schoolboy" had followed through with his homemade suicide bomb vest plan?

Yes thats a very dark idea.

I don't think he would have followed through with it, bear in mind this article is in the Daily Mail. Though given he is probably an aspie, why has it not been mentioned?

What evidence is there that he has AS?

He's obsessive, socially retarded and inappropriate with women :P

You did read the article right? There were stacks of things in there, I nearly went off the rails in a similar fashion tbh.

Muslimness trumps Aspieness. Mention Islam and the readers are already up to speed. And also the paper is spared the necessity of actually investigating this person's intentions, or having to produce a long exposition on neurological difference, or anything tedious like that.

This guy is at a pending trial though which is what concerns me - I hope he has had a good psychological assessment is all I can really say.

Had it been in Palestine, nobody would give a shit. They would just say it was another anti-Jewish attempt to blow some innocent fucker up.
Palestinians use suicide bombers... Israelis use tanks and planes. And all for what? Some bullshit 'promise' from a book full of fables and folklore.
Doesn't matter what the outcome, it moved the economy off the front page of that paper for a day.

Israel should be relocated imo.

Innocent until proven guilty, and yes, I too hope that his legal defence is thorough and well-prepared. The focus, though, would have to be on the threat to public safety, and not on this person's state of mind.

What about everyone elses threat to our safety. FFS.

Daily Mail is trash. Not even good enough to use as toilet paper :zoinks:

"Everyone else" isn't on trial here; Isa Ibrahim is. And I don't give a damn if he's on the spectrum, or is so-called "normal," or simply lets the imams control all his mental processes. If he is proven to have posed any public danger, he is liable.

It offers facts which matter to the case not about how he played with teddy bears, had a drug problem or divorced parents. Also notice the difference in the headlines: "Muslim ex-public schoolboy 'made his own suicide bomb vest to look cool'" and "Terror suspect student 'had suicide vest and explosives'".

Few newspapers really are.
They can be made soft, by folding again and again,
but they'll never be anything but smooth.
