Every year, on April 1, National Public Radio mixes April Fool's jokes in with its morning and afternoon news shows. The thing about NPR's jokes is, they're aimed at the intellectual crowd, so you have to really pay attention if you don't want to get fooled.
I confess, they had me fooled a few years ago when they did the story on exploding maple trees. (Something about the sap building up pressure inside.) This year, I was more alert. There were several. I caught on real quick when they got into the story about whale farming. (Think about it. Imagine all the excavation that would be needed for so many large salt-water pods. Imagine the maintenance costs. If such a thing existed, PETA would be going all apeshit over it.) They didn't fool me this time, but it was still fucking hilarious.

I laughed at the irate whale-hugger, while wondering whether I would have gotten sucked in myself.
