I'm a "hider".

Everything you "see" at a glance is neat and "just so", I'm just not responsible for any injuries if you open the closets.

This is how I satisfy my obsessive complusive side, and my hidden slob at the same time.

When I am in a neat phase that's how I am

I am a bit neat in a way.   I have a place for everything so I can find it.   If someone moves my stuff, I am a bit unnerved.   I hate not being able to find something quickly.   I do have too much stuff and clutter, but I tend to keep it packed away somewhere at least.

I used to be neat but now that I am living with a messy person I have sort of given up on it.

All of the guns and knives in my safe are very clean and the guns are properly lubed and most are loaded. The rest of my place is a mess. Callaway your answer gives me hope (probably misplaced) that I can find a brilliant wench who groks messiness.  :plus:

I don't care. And I certainly don't care about your opinion about why I should care.

Hostile, I know, but hey, I'm tired and drinking beer and feel like blaming it all on somebody.

I'm in between. Sure I vacume my floors every week and I don't have any "science projects" in the corners but my room is very messy. I have club soda cans and empty boxes of milk duds but nothing growing like some people.

I am neat.  And keep everything in its own spot (basically).  My xwife is bipolar, and would always move my stuff.  don't know if she did it on purpose, don't care now.

I like it neat but i dont have enough space. I clean all flickn day.some disorganization is distraction, I will do it purposefully because i cant clean something elsewhere in my life. It really bothers me to see somethings a mess.

Supposedly your personal hygiene is less than neat. If true, why's that when you like it neat elsewhere?

Hey, give him some credit.

At least the subject matter of that post included something besides swaggering boasts of his proficiency in the handling of his One-eyed, Purple-headed, Flying Yogurt Sling.

Messy, but sanitary. No dirty dishes or food left out.
Basically, If I spend alot of time in one place....things beging to pile up.

Mail, papers, boxes, parts and stuff just seem to collect where ever they land.
The garage is usually quite organized.....not the case at the moment though.

I go to both extremes.

I organise like a madman, then let it go to clutter (I should post a pic of my garage, with massively organised, labeled cubbies for everything, piled well beyond reason with other unlikely "keeps"), then go back to ultra organised, then lazy, messy, chaos.

Life is a wave and I ride the tippy top of it, until I am carried to the depths of the wave's trough.

I have no explanation.

I do that too.

I go on cleaning/organizing kicks when I'm stressed out.  ::)

I should just drink wine and say screw it, because it never stays organized for long anyways, I always clutter it up again.

With me, it's the opposite. Stress leads to indescribable chaos.

During those quickly passing, highly volatile "zen moments,"  I am neat and I often hack away with broad blade strokes at the cluttered tangle of my life. Zen does not last for me, though.

It never has.

But I have to fight my messy nature every day.  :vortex2:

Tool, "projects" and dead mice. Things hang from the rafters and are glued to the walls or held on with magnets - there are a lot of magnets. Lots of pens, pencils, paints and paintbrushes and paper specific to both. Heating pad, drinks, chests with treasure and piles of clothes that muffle the sounds from the train and the neighbors. an air filter for the dust and lots of boxes with specific tool sets. usually a couple of computers and a tablet or two. at least two sets of headphones and at least two sets of earplugs.

it is an old factory from the 1800s with penny nails driven in all over the place. The walls are slabs of splinter producing wood. on the walls i use the rare earth kind that stick with a vengeance. plus the landlord put metal frames around the downstairs doors and all the corners of the walls have metal under them. there are magnets all over the place. i haven't got all my magnets up but i am sure that py is very happy that they no longer populate the refrigerator door. I have magnets of every sort including the kind that can be worn; i have them in many strengths so i can use them in very specific circumstances.

when i was a kid me and my cousins used to dismantle the slot cars we had and if the engines were bad i would salvage the magnets. i've some stuck to the insides of pontiki so they can be stuck on the walls or the refrigerator.

i have a lot of magnets.
