This shot is from the New York episode of the Simpsons, made in 1997. I may be paranoid. It seems strange to me that they would put the price so big in the middle like that, 9.11 made out of the towers seems like kind of a random coincidence.

:tinfoil:
Au contraire, writing is often larger-than-life both in cartoons and on TV. Partly for comic effect, and partly so it can still be read on crappy quality or tiny TV's.
-
Just a coincidence; unless of course they were watching The Simpsons while initially planning it and thought, "Hey, you know, 9/11 would be a good day to do it".
-
Coincidence I'm sure, that is a bit shocking though.
-
The US army crossed the German border at the 11th of September in 1944. I'm sure the Germans are behind it some way or the other.

But, in the middle like that? And why did we need to know it was 9 dollars anyway? I'm freaked out now, to be honest.
-
:tinfoil: That is truly weird.
-
Yes, you're paranoid; lay off the cannabis or the Prozac or whatever for a while.
-
A little creepy but it's a coincidence. Anyone ever show you the $20 bill folding trick? Same deal.
-
The Illuminati does run the US. :P
-
The price of the magazine wasn't important to the plot, so why did they have to show it clearly at all, why not just make it a small scribble. Unless New York guidebooks do cost $9, and the price is as big as that IRL. I've never been there.

It looks 'shopped.
Otherwise, I think it's the cost of a trip to NY with the coupon.
-
If it is shopped, then someone has modified the epsiode on youtube also, as I have seen it animated.

I don't think I've ever seen a 20 dollar note.
-
Yes Bart did it :santa:

I look forward to the day when 'photoshop paranoia' becomes a recognised mental illness.
-
No way thats related. If you start thinking of numbers and situations, you'll come up with ALL KINDS of bullshit. Ever seen that movie with jim carrey, the number 23? I walked around for days after than noticing all kinds of coincidences. But thats all it is. Coincidence.
-
Jim Carrey was behind 9/11? :o
-
Aw shit. :o

That'll only happen if Paint Shop Pro gives enough money to the American Psychiatric Association.

:LMAO:
Ok, that was good.

There's a lot of stuff in media like that. Like this New World Order card game.

You realize that putting that word on this forum for the first time will put us under their attention.

Really :hide:
-
That's not funny. :finger:

:eyelash:
-
Not funny. Do you want to live the rest of your life in the Fahrenheit 451 state? ::)
-
Or better to say: the Fahrenheit 9/11 state. :grrr:
-
It's even worse: modern "society" is a mix of "Fahrenheit 451" and "1984". And you prefer to laught at it. Take Rage as a role model instead. He intends to do something about it when it gets unbearable.

They already watch us. :orly:
Most likely with all that money and power I guess they get mighty bored after doing all those privileged things.
After traveling everywhere, owning every possession possible, going to the moon ect they have nothing left better to do than
watch a bunch of aspies discussing diapers, sex, porn, skull business, machine parts, my little nazi ponies and Beatles.
::)
-
That's about it, yes. :D
-
No, they watch Aspies and NTs alike - democracy at its best.

Hey thanks man. But you know i'd rather avoid the BIG fight if I can in the end. If theres an alternative, i'll definetely be looking at it very carefully. But slavery is not an alternative I would consider.
-
You shouldn't start a fight, of course, but if you were about to become a slave, that would be a pretty good reason for a struggle on life and death.

People do get eyeballed by governments but unless you are living in a total police state then it's not likely that the chekists will give you more than a passing glance. Outfits like the FBI don't have the resources to scrutinize everyone there is. If things really do get unbearable then it's time to ask yourself "What would Gordon Kahl or Sofia Perovskaya do?", until such a point gets reached it makes more sense to try to get your point across through communicating with your elected officials. I doubt that very many people who are too lazy to express themselves to their Congressman or Parliamentary Representative when it is low cost will do so when the stakes are very high.

In Sweden there are some absolute taboos in politics:
* gun laws
* immigration policy
* drugs
* prostitution
About those things there is no fucking idea whatsoever to try to get a member of the parliament to make a change. Only the Nazis, extreme commies or libertarians want free guns for the people, though for very differing reasons, of course. Only the Nazis or the very few really conservative want another immigrant policy. Only the libretarians want another drug policy and prostitution policy. You can't ask the establishment to change these laws; won't work.
-
That may be, but have you actually tried?
-
I've voted for parties that want to change the gun law and the immigration policy. I know people who have, in vain, tried to change it by trying to talk to the establishment.
