Title: Question
Post by: Teejay on February 06, 2009, 06:14:26 PM
I want to get myself into listening to Acid House, Trance and Psytrance music. The question is anybody listen to that kind of music and recommend some good artists and/or albums from those genres, so I can get started.

Thank You

Could you stick up a few examples of them - I kind of have no idea what they are really.

It is something I could like a lot, I like trying out new music.

When I was younger I thought I could like it because my friend was really into it. After a while I decided I didn't like it.

WELCOME TO MY WORLD TJ!

My best recommendation is to go to an outdoor dance party, aka bush doof.

Oztrance.com is a great forum to find info on such parties and the music in general. I have a feeling they aren't accepting new members due to hacking attempts, so try Australiens as well.

Mostly my favourite music in this broad genre (psychedelic dance) comes from artists on the Zenon label which is based in Oz and is described as "prog".
Check out Tetrameth, Shadow Fx and Autonomech.

I'm a fan of some darkpsy artists such as KinDzaDza, Baphomet Engine and Datakult.

For the good-old psytrance sound, you should find albums from Hallucinogen, Infected Mushroom, 1200 Micrograms and Raja Ram in most record shops.

Search for any of the artisits mentioned on Myspace to hear samples.
