Title: U.S. Porn Industry Seeks Government Bailout Money
Post by: El on January 08, 2009, 08:26:38 AM
I guess even pornographers could benefit from stimulus packages? (http://"http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28549145/")

I think they were expecting to be taken seroiusly, too.

It looks like they were.  I doubt they will get any money, though.

Is the bailout only for Christ-compatible businesses?

Yes, but unlike Lockheed, they'll be able to get it up and keep it up.  :P

Or at least only businesses where there's a legitimate reciprocal threat from and to the economy.

Granted, part of the issue is that even politicans who aren't total pussies probably wouldn't have the balls to support something this contravertial, seeing as it would offend both morally-conservative cunts and economically-conservative tightasses.  Butt even that aside, I personally find it pretty difficult to imagine it being a problem to the U.S. economy if the porn industry goes south, or even has the bottom drop out of it cumpletely.  And even THAT aside, if the porn industry crashes, it'll be a sign that America has fall on hard times indeed, because I bet this is one of the last places the wankers who are dumb enough to pay for it in the first place are going to cut back their spending.  Of course, if the issue is really that people who normally pay for porn are now actually going for the free stuff instead, a solution that would be far more supported by Washington would be to make free porn harder to come by- which might not really impact the economy, but would prolly still throw the nation into a pretty whorable depression.

Maybe the government is going to be hard on the porn industry but not giving them to support they need to come good.

I lol'd when I saw this on the news.    It should be obvious that the internet pirates have been hard on the porn industry.    I have paid for music in the last 15 years, but I can't remember the last time I paid for porn.   I am sure that the porn companies have lost quite the wad of cash over the years from online piracy of their material.   I don't feel sorry for Larry Flint or any of the porn companies.
