There are a number of new ones out there, based on the work of Escher and a couple of others. The always make me nauseous if I look into them too deeply. I get vertigo fairly easily.
i was looking at a the brush strokes on a painting in a restaurant, thinking about how the variations in thickness, colour, opacity, weight, etc give my brain cues to interpret the painting as three dimensional. then i started wondering if there are people who have brains that visually interpret two dimensional pictures as actually being two dimensional (that is, it actually "looks" flat to them).
