If the world made sense, there would be no need for religion, and if there were no religion, then the catholic priests would have a much harder time finding little boys to fuck.
Autism Speaks would like to remind you that you don't exist, because there are no Autistic adults and autistic children are too braindead to be able to use a computer.

But still we try to make it make sense. :duh:

We should start by trying to make sense of ourselves.

:plus: Absolutely...that has been my life's work, really. At 44 I am just beginning to get out of my own way!

If the world made sense, there wouldn't be people with the urge to find little boys of girls to fuck.

But the world doesn't make sense. So there are people who will teach swimming with the sole purpose of finding the right little kids for their urge. Or they become a scouting leader. No matter what.

Would be great if the end of religion would mean the end of abuse. But, it simply doesn't.

Sadly, only the end of humanity is likely to bring that about. :thumbdn:

Good thing is that most people who teach swimming, or are a scouts leader are OK.

Still true that more things are going reasonably well than absolutely wrong.

I have been to a church where people spoke in tongues and fell over on the floor, so at first I thought that was what was happening to her.
People who have seizures are treated as special in those circles. Sometimes religious fervor can even cause them. Have you ever known anyone who has seizures? Some know it is about to happen but not soon enough to warn anyone, and get the overwhelming sensation something really important is going to happen. Have heard it decribed as about to recieve a message from God.

From 1749 to 1752 a surge of seizure like movements, talking in tongues and such went through some Dutch churches. (If I recall right, it wasn't only in the Netherlands, but can't find the back up for that now)

There have been all kinds of speculations what would have caused it. A fungus in the rye? It was a couple of wet years. Some disease in bovines, spreading weird toxins via meat? Or "plain" contagiousness of a fad?

Pro's and con's for all theories.

And as sudden as it came, it went again too.

Yes, I know people who have seizures.

What do they have to say about it? Interesting subject, more so than the holy rollers anyway, but only a little.

The people I know who have seizures aren't religious but I don't know anyone who describes the aura if they have one as getting the overwhelming sensation something really important is going to happen.

What do they say about it? Have heard some don't remember the moments before, but the ones who do are interesting. Knew a girl years ago who knew in enough advance to tell someone and lay down, but she wasn't born with it.

My cousin has epileptic seizures and they are indeed serious business.   He hasn't had any since he started taking his meds, thankfully.
:P   Internets are super serious.
