I got to be in a protest
« on: May 02, 2008, 07:23:28 AM »
I forgot to post this last night.

The union at my work decided to hold a protest on May day, work politics, so I joined in. Other people from work showed up and grabbed a sign and marched in front of the hotel in a circle.
There was also another protest going on except it was huge and it was a rally. Streets were closed off and they were marching and there were police cars and police men on bikes. They marched over and to us gave us some support and they continued marching on. Their protest was about sending back illegal immigrants.

Well myself and some others organised the most legendary protest on our school field about the Iraq invasion, and half the school abandoned lessons and we closed the school down for the morning. Most of the people who showed just went for a laugh though...

For it. Showing up means showing you support the union and you want more benefits. The more employees that showed up, the more it showed our work how much of their employees want the benefits.

There are things that suck about my job like they don't pay for our transportation and lot of businesses in downtown do. Luckily my boyfriend's job pays for it and he only has to pay $108 for a yearly bus pass but they do it every August. The yearly bus passes do cost a lot more than that but the employees have to pay a little part of it.

Too many people too much room for bad things to happen I'd pass

'People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.'
