I've done logo, basic, Assembly, Pascal, HTML.

I'm assuming learning PHP/SQL wouldnt be that hard.

PHP is not that hard, really, but I hate the embedding in XML.

Your problem would be the queries when hovering over a member's profile, and then implementing that over several themes while not making the board too slow.

Yeah, so you would have to be optimising for PHP and SQL, sounds like joy.

They are both something I want to learn on a linux server as oposed to doing on windows. I know it can be done on WAMP system, but considering hardly any servers in the wild are set up that way, why bother.

We are on a Linux server. Feel free to think about it.

I really do need to think about it. I need something useful to do full stop. After I upgrade my machine, I'm gonna turn the spare parts (P4 3GHz. 3GB RAM, 8600GT) into a Linux machine that I can learn on.

MySQL, SMF, and you'll be on your way. I prefer clean installs, not editing a dozen old-ish SMF themes, thank you very much.

I'm gonna take this opertunity to talk about what I'm upgrading to.

Gigabyte GA-EX38-DQ6 Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
4GB Ram Kit (2x2048MB) DDR2-1066
Gigabyte 512MB 8800GT

4x 750GB WD SATA3gb/s HDDs
Pioneer 215D SATA DVDWriter
Razer ProSolution 1.6 Mouse

Still debating wheather to go with a Thermaltake MaxOrb or a Scythe Ninja Plus Heatsink/Fan.
