Back in 1969 or 1970 I had a pair of lace-up granny boots. They had a moderate high heel and laced up to my knee.  One of my favorite pairs of shoes.

Black of course.  However, they fit me very snugly and as I was a sales clerk in a department store at the end of the day I had lace marks up and down my leg and the top of my foot.  The bottom of my feet were numb because I couldn't even put socks on.  They were spectacular for sitting however.
