Not so interesting, from my perspective.  BTDT
Jimi Hendrix: When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

Ghandi: Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

I've BTDT too, plenty of times. I still find it an interesting state.

Overwhelmed to the point of hurting myself.

What is BTDT?   :orly:

Thank you, I should have seen it but I had a senior moment!   :prude:

That's why the senior moments scare me!   :aff:

Thanks, and cool picture.

So much of this stress would be resolved by being able to move out of home and away from my abusive fuckwit of a father, but I don't earn enough to both eat and pay rent; I've tried over and over to find more work; I keep getting rejecting for everything, including cleaning jobs, which I thought used to be what you did when you couldn't find any other work. I don't know what else to do; I ask people for help and they are as puzzled as I am about why nothing works. I just want something like stacking shelves to make a few more dollars; surely it shouldn't be this hard?
To make things even better, my parents are moving to New Zealand in 6 monhs and selling the house, and I'm sure that my difficulties finding sufficient work won't go away just because the need for it is more urgent.\
I went to all the employment agencies around here; they told me that unless I'm on the dole, which I'm not, they can't help me.

So yeah. Overwhelmed.

That sucks. I never was good at job interviews myself. For a brief period after I got out of the military I had a great job working on Fast Attack Nuclear submarines but an oversight on my part, regarding an application not my work, fucked that up. I went through a series of shit paying jobs between age 24 and 35 until a temp agency placed me with an outfit making stuff for the semi conductor industry and they hired me permanent. Then I got mad at them and joined the Union, I don't have to do interviews anymore. Have you tried applying through temp agencies? ?That ultimately turned my career around.

No, I haven't tried that yet, and thank you, that is exactly the sort of advice I'm looking for and not getting.

People are asking for years of experience for entry-level work, which I would have had if I'd been able to manage part-time work and high school. But seriously... it's entry-level work; not rocket science.
What's the polite way of saying "No, I don't have an experience in stacking shelves/working a cash register (which I do know how to do, I just haven't done it much)/whatever, but a trained monkey could do it, so I'm sure I will learn."?

Perhaps referring to your general organization skills and how you put together and implement lesson plans for your students would help. Did you ever work as a TA for any of your music teachers? Anything like that may help. I recall when I was in college having motherfuckers want to know if I had worked for Taco Time before, like their tacos are so fucking unique.  ::)

I hope it continues to go well.

I too am feeling better than expected, after having been awakened by coughing fits during the night.
