I am relieved that both cops agreed for once. (Have you not noticed that most cop partners are in constant competition?)
I am also very glad that only an add-on part of my car was damaged (the trailer hitch). The plastic part that makes the bumper more aerodynamic was bent some, and the paint was broken at the bend, but it just sprung back into shape and did not break.
I am still going to file an insurance claim, though, once the police report is ready (in two days, they said).
Sounds like a rather annoying day.
That was just the end of it all.
This day started for me (actually quite well, but went down hill rapidly) in a ginormous building that had a problem with the air conditioning. When I got to work, six AM, the building was eighty seven degrees inside and the humidity was ninety four per cent. I had a buttload of energetic shit that I needed to accomplish before the store opened.
Thank the gods that about ten minutes before we had to face pissed off customers, teh AC kicked on and it seemed fine afterwards. I found out later that during the night, the safety systems had detected a "Fire Condition" and shut things down for safety reasons.
My immediate thought was along the lines of, ""WHY THE FUCK DID NOT SOME KIND OF ALARM GO TO ALL THE MANAGEMENT STAFF AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENTS IN THE AREA!!!" or something. Why was my early crew the first to discover this problem!!!
