And what possible use would you have for that knowledge?

 Is my sex life or lack thereof really that fascinating to you?

Hi Pyraxis.  I just wanted to say hello.  I read through your thread, and you're very interesting.

Hi Aeval!  ;D Got any questions to potentially make it more interesting?

I was interested in the line of questioning that led to Christianity, etc.

Do you have any interest in theology in general?

Yes, as it relates to philosophy, ethics, and sociology. No, if it's just about the particulars of one interpretation of a religious text over another. I need a purpose - "unraveling the mysteries of God" or whatever higher power isn't an end in itself - I want to know how it applies to real life. And if I don't share enough premises with a particular theological argument, then the argument becomes uninteresting. The point becomes moot if it doesn't address my original issues.

I'm also interested in cults - but that's because of the psychology and extremes of manipulation. Interested in mythology, but that's as inspiration for storytelling and roleplaying games. Interested in traditions, sometimes, but that's as a basis for understanding cultural norms.

Which mythologies interest you most?  Do you have any interest in the Celtic mythologies?

Some. My knowledge of Celtic mythology is rather corrupted, because it's so second-hand. Picked up by osmosis from fantasy authors and gaming systems. I have no idea what's true to the source and what's elaborated to make it seem cooler. I do like the idea of changelings, though. Which has interesting links to autism advocacy, for the number of times distraught parents have claimed that autism has "stolen" their child.

Why did you ask about Celtic specifically?

What, off the top of your head, are some movies you like a lot, and do you ever cry or like crying to movies?
And as always, these are simply my worthless opinions.
Reverence is fine, Sanctity is silly.
We're all fucked, it helps to remember that.

It's something I'm fascinated by but don't really know enough about.  If you did, I was going to pick your brain as much as I could.

What Dreams May Come.
Mononoke-Hime.
Waterworld.
Spirited Away.
The Incredibles.
LotR trilogy.
Hard Candy.

I often cry during movies. I cried like crazy through Grave of the Fireflies. Most recently I cried at one of the preview screenings of The Ant Bully, but that was cause I was sitting among the people who were making it, not because it was especially good.

Um. Now I've got to remember specific scenes I cried at.

...Crap. No clue. Now the question's going to be bugging me though, so I'll see if I can remember to take note next time I watch something.
