why a horse?
I mean, if you want to show how hungry you are, why not "i could eat an elephant!" or "i could eat a whale!"

apparently it is the disgustingness of eating a horse that shows how hungry you are... not how big it is... i should have known that  :-[

i can think of worse things to eat than horses though... so... the question still stands

why a horse?

Food sayings usually never make any sense. I'm not a fan of gamey meats, so I probably wouldn't try it anyways.

they eat horse meat in france.

as a veggie, i can't really see the difference between eating cow, pig, etc. and horse.  not carnivores, though, cos their flesh is stringier and strangely flavoured, so i hear, due to what they eat themselves.

I love beef and pork!  I've eaten venison, ostrich, goat, skate, alligator, frogs, rabbit...I forgot the rest.
