That's a smurfin' weird-looking baby
But they're teaching him to talk lol
Could lead towards "humanoid robots which learn, think and talk."

Quote from: Angelo Cangelosi, Professor in Artificial Intelligence
The outcome of the research will define the scientific and technological requirements for the design of humanoid robots able to develop complex behavioural, thinking and communication skills through individual and social learning.

I don't want robots that learn too much.   They could learn that they don't need us to exist and could sustain themselves eventually.   Fuck that.

They've got to work on their design a bit if they want a gynoid they can rent out.  The Casper the friendly ghost in the machine look just doesn't do it for me.

Agreed, even though I wouldn't mind getting one if my concerns were satiated.  The look is not my favorite among robotic designs.  I definitely find it interesting that they want to offer pets or some sort of virtual child to consumers.   I am certain that there are people who would pay for something as ridiculous as that.   It isn't a robot maid or anything useful.
