Don't people have textured ceilings in the US?  The ceiling in this room has pebble-dash textured paper on it.

fuck no. we've had popcorn ceilings before though, ive never seen that fluffy stuff on walls or ceilings in any house ive lived at

Most newer constructions (which is most places here) have popcorn ceilings.

I hated popcorn ceilings when I was a child because a balloon could burst on them. I was terrified of the noise.
