lol Why is shaking me not effective?
I would be making mistakes either way
There's no one decision I can make right now that will make things better

Not getting you to try what I think would help.

Like I said, I've given up.
Just defending what I had
been doing. This isn't some
ONE decision though, but one step
which I think would make you happier,
for a while. Might be enough to pull
you out of your malaise, for a bit.

Worked for me.

If I ask people for advice, I always listen to what they suggest, and take that into consideration
If I know it's not right though or it's not going to work, I'm not going to do it just because I "should" always "try" everything

I'm sick of people telling me I never do anything to fix my problems though, when that's completely the opposite of what I'm doing

I know and when you don't take their advice, they should just lay off instead of saying things like that to you.

You know yourself and your life a great deal better than they do, so you know what's right and what's wrong for you a lot more than they do.

That's cool
I don't think anything will help now though except trying to deal with things better about Sophie

It is probably my fault really
I am very defensive about things like that because of crap I've got from Shleed etc about it in the past
So it pisses me off and then I get angry

Nobody can fault you for wanting to help a friend Calandale. At least that aspect shows you are more human than a lot of people out there.

I CAN be faulted by letting any
of this come out publicly. That
was wrong.

Fucking hell, will you fuckers lay off??

If someone wont take your advice, maybe its shit advice, or maybe you dont know how to deliver said advice.

No need to get your panties in a twist cos someone wont take your expert advice. Shit, if their life is hard enough, no matter what is causing it or has caused it, telling them that their life would have been better had they listened to you isnt going to help things.

Why do people get it in their head that if you tell them a string of negative things about themselves, that they are magically going to turn around and start following your sage advice?

Oh and Hadron, once again you have proven the asshat that you are. In one breath you say ppl shouldnt follow the station in life that they are born into, yet then turn around and say that there is no escaping the social norm of drinking, partying and chess? Even to the point of saying its sad or stupid or it isnt possible.

Hang on, there is something on your face, yeh, just near your lips, no no, the other side, yep, you got it. It was just a piece of shit that got on there while you were delivering your verbal diarrhoea.

In time and with the right help you can learn what to let "slide" or ignore and what to act on.  Your doing the best you can at the moment, but, there comes a point when you do have to reach out and see whats out there and decide if it's right for you.  I know thats vague, but everyones circumstances are unique and there is no "one size fits all" solution.  I'm not the best at taking advice either, more because I learned what I did by getting my ass kicked, "dope slapped upside the head", and making plenty of mistakes along the way.  I envy my daughter for all the coaching and counselling that she is getting along the way in her growing up.  Especially when she makes mistakes, she has safe harbors to figure and learn where she went wrong.

Good luck!

I take an opportunity if it's one I want or that I think will help
I've taken drugs when I didn't particularly want to
I've spent weeks with counselors when I hated it
I'm paying MONEY to try and get help
I'm going to see the mental health person when I don't want to
I sort of hope you do want to....but then I sort of feel that way. I don't want to go but I feel I need to, to get some help. So I want to go because of that.
It is hard to explain it. I will be thinking of you on the 21st. And I will be thinking of myself too!
