This reminds me of a Pony fan I knew back in graduate school.  I think this person was most likely an Aspie because:

1) She was always by herself, be it in the lunch room, the computer lab, etc.

2) I got into a conversation with her once.  The conversation consisted mainly of me changing the subject to sci-fi conventions and her changing it back to My Little Ponies.
