Cats come with built-in potty-training. You don't have to teach them to respect the carpet.. they just do.
Cats don't yowl at the moon, the doorbell, the sound of other cats, or the garage door opener.
Cats tend to keep their stank-ass breath out of your face.
Cats don't get all worked up if you leave them alone for a few days.
Cats don't take shit from people. They have strong personalities.
Cats are small enough to share the bed with, even if you've got somebody else there with you.

The grisly death of a kitten has not only triggered a dispute between its foreign owner and the police but also highlighted the relatively soft punishment imposed on animal abusers in Taiwan.

The incident behind the controversy occurred in June, when the three-month old kitten owned by the family of German Institute Taipei Director-General Detlef Boldt was found dead near Boldt's home with both of its forelimbs and chest amputated.

Boldt and his wife were shocked by their mutilated kitten's remains, and reported the case to the police, urging them to track down the person responsible for what they believed was animal abuse.

The police, however, not only ignored the death of the kitten, named "Tiger," but also said that in Taiwan, the killer would only face a maximum fine of NT$50,000, Boldt's wife suggested.
