I would like to know the simple facts why everyone hates Alex Plank

when i delete accounts on zomg, their posts stay there, with the name of the person who posted it and "guest" underneath. you just can't click onto it to get to a profile or anything. same or similar to how it works on here i think

although on a site as big as wp, it wouldn't make mch difference even if they WERE deleted
i have nearly 14,000 posts there in 3 months, but after a couple months of me being banned, most of the threads i'd posted in had disappeared under a load of new ones anyway. no one would notice after a while

Actually it would be *very* easy to remove posts, and easy enough to show how, even for a clueless jury.

I know that. It's got little to do with that.
I am pretty damned sure that given the expectations
of all other media, and the fact that NOT deleting posts
is the norm, there's no chance of a court setting such
a precedent. At least in the US.

Nah. I think I SAID that, in fact.
Because, what people wanted was
their posts deleted - not just the account
killed.

Had no idea how PhBB handled things, at that point.

Don't see what killing a spam bot or troll account
does which mere banning doesn't, tbh. All that changes
is removing the name. The big problem is that PhBB
doesn't allow people to delete their own posts (though
there may be mods which do) AND it doesn't allow editing
them, after some period.

Hell, I'd say there'd be no issue at all, if it allowed either.
No reason it should be EASY to remove all trace of yourself.
But, you should be able to retract what you've said - if you
wish.
