The first M20 flew in 1955 and the J model was produced from 1977 to the mid 90's.

Mooney has been bought by a Chinese company (go figure) and is now making the Acclaim Ultra which has a composite cabin fuselage section and two doors instead of the standard right side door.

The Mooney 301 never made it into production but it became the basis for the very successful Socata TBM Turboprop.
