New job
« on: January 15, 2008, 05:28:25 PM »
I just saw an add for just the kind of job I always wanted but am nervous about calling especially since I just got a big contract that will take tree months to complete.  Think I should call or not there's no guarantee it's still even open or that I'd get it

Of course. What harm is there?
Unless you GET it.

But, doesn't make doing so,
any easier.

If you get the job, then will you be able to do it and your big three month contract too and still have time to do whatever else you need to do?

If so, then go for it.

Everything makes me nervous I dread making the call about it tomorrows.  It would be a nice job for me though it would be servicing industrial machinery across the country with some international work

I'd get it done some how but I'll worry about how if it comes about

Well, you could always explain to your prospective
employer. IF you turn out to be such a good fit
for them, they might well be willing to give you
time to get your business sorted out.

It's worth the shot.

 :plus:

For pushing yourself to trying.
It's bloody hard - especially when
you don't really have to.

they filled it already :'(

I'm sorry.  It's a good thing you tried anyway or you would have been wondering about the missed opportunity for a long time.
