That is fucked up.   Nothing like that here, thankfully.   Tons of good fishing spots around here.   My uncle won a boat at the Kingfish tournament 2 years ago.   I would never live up North.   The rust belt is full of pollution, cold weather, high crime, traffic, and income taxes.   No thanks to that bullshit.   You can actually drink the water in the Florida Aquifer.   Both my doctor and dentist say the flouride that is in the water is better than the filtered or bottled water.   Have you watched the Pen and Teller's Bullshit episode on Bottled Water versus Tap Water?   Now that was hilarious and fucked up.

If you like the taste of sulfur at least that's what it tasted like in Sarasota

Here it's mostly mercury in the water that is the concern from Ct industrial past and the pollution from the coal power plants in the midwest

That is well water, not the actual tap water we drink here.   I taste no sulfur egg water here.   Though I don't drink tap water myself because in my parents house it is all water filtered.

Mercury lol....  That is terrible.   Yeah its the rust belt due to the industrial past.   The Midwest is its own special place lol.

Yeah, I can't even tolerate the smell of florida water. I would never put it into my mouth without gasping for a few last breaths and going under.

I think Indiana water is about as bad, but it is iron and calcium heavy, instead.

We can't eat the fish here, either.

It's funny - I was just thinking about this a few days ago and what a shame it is that the industrial efforts have ruined our local fishing spots.

There are more stern warnings posted here. You are warned, unconditionally, to not eat any fish from our waters due to accumulations of toxic chemicals in our waters.

A few years ago there was a mini red-death along the shores of the White River, which runs through central Indiana. The perpetrator was discovered and was levied a "multi-thousand dollar fine" and the offending manufacturer was required to purchase a few hundred thousand native spawn and re-seed the nearly-exterminated species to the river.
I know it means jobs to some people, but a company should never be allowed to get by with this kind of disregard for nature. That manufacturer should never again exist.

You are talking about the well water and not the municipal tap drinking water as far as Jacksonville or any kind of city goes here.   The tap water comes from underground and is run from treatment plants.   Zephyrhill springs for example.   I never open my mouth in any water that people swim in, you have to be fucking stupid to do that.   Hell I don't open my mouth in pools.   The water in Mexico is what is scary bad.   We have a river in Jacksonville that is brackish.   Sarasota sucks anyways and is on the Gulf, which smells the same everywhere (doesn't really smell imo).

The big cities up north pay more for their drinking water via taxes.   Buffalo gets its water from Canada for example.  NYC has shit drinking water.   Jacksonville isn't bad for a relatively big city, same goes for Orlando.   Austin, San Diego, San Jose and maybe Las Vegas (getting too popular) are the only places on that list I would consider moving close to.

http://www.rd.com/content/50-cleanest-dirtiest-cities-in-america/

Now, you're projecting.

I have lived in Mexico for weeks on end and drank right out of the rivers. None of the quick-stepping ill-effects that you have heard about near the borders.

The mountains of Mexico are relatively clean, as of a few years ago. Simple people live there and there is no industry. Not even modernised farming. the land is very clean.

Where there are conglomerations of people, it is a different story, though. There is very little in the way of safety treatments for the water supply. The water contains living microbes and some are dangerous, such as E. coli. We all know how that gets into the water supply.

Twice as tall as you.  Snow can be higher than a one story building there.  Ridiculously cold place for most of the year.  You can't swim in the water there really, just pretty to look at like the falls.  It is a rust belt city and has a rapidly declining population.   It is also basically next to Niagra Falls and near the Canadian border.
