I have been to Cancun and Xcaret.

http://www.xcaret.com/?gclid=CJCb2MPOy5ACFQ2aOAodVgSkXQ

The water there is terrible.  Most people would visit the cities and conglomerations of people.   That is what we were talking about elsewhere.
:P   Internets are super serious.

NYC has shit drinking water.

Odd. We used to always complain,
in Orange county, because they had
better water than we did, but got it
from near us.

Buffalo seems great.

Not for water. Tastes crappy. Don't think it was
too pure either.

Eugene honestly has the best water I've ever tasted.
Except maybe stuff out of a mountain stream.

When I say snow I mean it in the tens of feet

It just has a bad reputation. Gets about the same
as Chicago, and less than Syracuse. Thing is, it tends
to hit in freak storms, at times when others aren't expecting
much - usually early in the season.

I have to say though, when a big storm hit,
it was always FUN.

Where there are conglomerations of people, it is a different story, though. There is very little in the way of safety treatments for the water supply. The water contains living microbes and some are dangerous, such as E. coli. We all know how that gets into the water supply.

When I was in Venezuela, the main river near my
school (ironically the Rio Clare) was an open sewer.
Seriously. Everything just flowed out of the houses
into it.

The tap water was undrinkable. I got dissintery just
from brushing my teeth with it.

Twice as tall as you.  Snow can be higher than a one story building there.  Ridiculously cold place for most of the year.  You can't swim in the water there really, just pretty to look at like the falls.  It is a rust belt city and has a rapidly declining population.   It is also basically next to Niagra Falls and near the Canadian border.

Oh stop. I was there for 18 years, and never saw
an accumulation as tall as I am. The mountains here
are a different matter - THERE, I learned what a real
snow pack is. A good 15 feet.

As to the population, that of the city itself is declining,
but the 'burbs are growing. The overall area population
is staying level. There's just this horrible inner city cancer.
There are areas there that compare to some of the most
dangerous neighborhoods in the US. It's a shame, because
they aren't too far from some of the historic places. In fact,
the old train station, which was once a masterpiece, is the
center of such an area. They never should have shut it down.

The city, like many, is the victim of big projects and too much
urban planning. When they put the trolley in (okay subway),
they shut down the downtown stretch of main street, making
it a pedestrian mall. Ruined several blocks of thriving businesses.
Huge buildings, like the convention centers, hockey rink, baseball
stadium, ended up badly breaking up the natural flow and feel.

Oh, and I've swam in the water. Lake Erie ain't pristine,
but neither is the ocean.

The water in the lakes are too cold to swim in the majority of the year.   Parts said tens of feet and I was clarifying it for Milla.   I don't know exactly how much it snows there, any is enough for me.

Over the course of a year, it ends
up in the tens. But, it doesn't just accumulate.

I miss snow.

I like snow too and wish we would get more but I live less than a mile from the water so it tends to be a little warmer here and the heavy snow stays North of me

cool. you could build an igloo.

We built one in our back yard a couple of years ago.

I wanted to build another one last year, but the snow was wrong for it.

My daughter was happy with her snow fort we built instead.
