Cemeteries

Strange obsessions and dark humor abound here so I don't feel weird asking this anybody into cemeteries.  My mother was and instilled the interest in e at a young age.  Not the new ones though they are good for a peaceful stroll the old ones  she would take me around to see all the old stones and document where they where many where family lots and very small and abandoned.  I have been to many in the are and seen famous peoples graves like Eli Whitney , Noah Webster and President Kennedy..  Many of the older ones have beautiful all be it dark art work on them

As a child it was a common belief that you must hold your breath when passing a cemetery lest the souls of the dead enter your vomit hole.

Yep, I enjoy walking them when I get a chance. Peaceful. I can spend hours in the older ones reading the stones, I've always liked the stones that have pictures too.

There are interesting things to read in cemeteries. I have heard people say they would be scared to walk through one at night. I don't think I would be.

i dreamt of a giant tomb. i think it was for a cartoon character.

well anyway i love cemetaries. i feel peaceful there.

i was thinking in my dream while rubbing my hand against the cool marmor... it was a lion or somekind of animal, maybe Minnie Mouse, that had a body inside it ...how funny it was that the thought of a corpse inside it didn't bother me.

Yeah. I kinda like them. The old parts are great,
hunting down the oldest members, and trying to
find people whose names are recognizable.

I've found that the larger ones are fantastic
as manicured parks, since there's a lot less
general usage. No kids skateboarding through,
for example. My wife and I used to walk the
cemetery a lot, centering our trip around feeding
the geese (especially in winter).

Breaking in at night, and having sex in them is fun too.

cemetaries are useful places for many things.

me and mom used to take walks to one cemetary and feed the squirrels.

I like walking in cemeteries, especially if they are old with many trees.  There was one near my apartment in Albany NY that had a great view of the Catskills at the top.  The cemetery in Cooperstown NY was also a favorite of mine.  Hilly with lots of trees and some pretty interesting and old monuments.  A nice place to get away from the hectic scene!

That must suck when walking past big ones.  It could take a good 10 minutes to walk past some of the cemeteries around here.
