Naughty cherries are the best.

I see them occasionally in the produce section at the store, all tarted up, being snubbed by the "good" cherries!

And the wrinkly raisins are very disapproving of raucous cherries, probably because they never had one.

I console the raisins by taking them home to be consumed in my raisin bran!  :evillaugh:

I soak my raisins in whiskey before I add them to my bread pudding.  Yum, hic.

And of course you have to taste the whiskey to be sure it's good enough to cook with!
Just a sip...  :fiveshots:

Well, at least I don't make the vile whiskey sauce for it that my mom made.  It seemed to be equal parts sugar (probably granulated since the sauce was grainy), butter and whiskey.  It burned like the dickens going down our throats as children, but it was the way my dad liked it and he was the king.

Too soon to give a karma point, but you got that right.

Thank you! Any excuse to use that icon, I love the king's cheesy grin!  :green:

Just remembered the new canned mandarin oranges I bought today, eating some now!

The smell of, or the thought of eating mandarins makes me want to  :puke:

They taste like off oranges to me. Not that I've ever eaten a spoiled orange, but mandarins taste spoiled to me.

However, if oranges broke into handy little segments like mandarins, that would be fabulous. Of all the hybrids in the world, why the hell haven't they done this yet?

There's tangelos.

Yes...I think I've had one when I was really young. Not that I can remember so much ...but I imagine them as sweet, but a bit tasteless and not as tangy as orange juice.

That's the part I like about oranges...the tanginess....anything else doesn't seem right. I have a real aversion to the smell of mandarins, it's cloying and horrible to me.

The mandarins I eat are canned in Splenda, maybe the syrup makes a difference?  :chin:

Yes I did. On the road but better than I had expected.
