a band from Florida fronted by Chuck Shuldiner. Probably the first and most influential Death Metal band.
I never took French, or bothered to study it at all. I liked German more, mostly due to me liking their automobiles admittedly.
I rather enjoyed 'Spiritual Healing'.
This is a good Death CD in my signature (Symbolic has my favourite songs probably). Their best CDs are Human, Individual Thought Patterns, Symbolic, and Sound of Perserverence. Spiritual Healing is alright, but probably one of my least favourites, next to the first two (which are great in their own right). Later on Chuck got more Jazz session guys on lead guitar rather than using James Murphy on SH.
Individual Thought Patterns has the best lineup musicianship-wise with Gene Hoglan (drums: Dark Angel, Testament, Strapping Young Lad), Andy LaRocque (guitar beast: Mercyful Fate, King Diamond, At the Gates), Steve Digorgio (bass deity: Sadus, Testament, Iced Earth). The lead by LaRocque on Trapped in a Corner is great with how he doubled the sweep picked part. Gene Hoglan is just amazing as usual with his jazzy playing and tom and double bass patterns (flashy shit with ride cymbal as well). Steve DiGiorgio is probably the single most identifiable bassist due to the fact he plays a fretless bass and does 32nd notes along with the guitars lol.
