Just finished a simple salad of beetroot, fish, potato and pickled onions.

Satisfactory. Not bad, not good enough to write about either. But, I just did.  :P

A French Dip sandwich, I wonder if the French just call it a dip sandwich?

Be sure to ask them next spring!  :eiffel:

We had beef jerky that was re-constituted into an open fire casserole, with the last of the onion, cheese and celery that we had brought along. We still have plenty more rice and noodles.

We made this one with rice.

Heading back home tomorrow and as much of a true relief as this short trip has been,  I miss MOST my comfortable bed.  Back to work at six AM on Monday and no more days off for me for a while.

It was worth it!!

Whole Wheat Pancakes and honey, scrambled eggs, sausage links was the best of the 3 meals today.

With the egg recall, I expect it will be a while before a lot of food items and prices will be available and reasonable because so many prepared foods and mixes contain eggs.   :'(

salmonella

If you make sure your eggs have been completely heated, so, no soft yolk etc., and have no food in contact with raw eggs, you will be safe.

Some amount like 500 million eggs from 2 companies, but the list may grow.  No one has died from the salmonella, but over 1,000 people were confirmed  as getting it.

Sounds intriguing.  Are they eaten before Lent like the English eat pancakes?
