I had some leftover gluten-free scones with jam and cream.

Not quite as good as the scones with wheat flour and lots of gluten. But you don't want to be around me after I've eaten a couple of those.

It was from a jar. Chicken Tonight I think. The rice for it is cooked in the microwave.

Butter chicken is good. My favourite is Chicken Korma which I used to make from scratch but the sauce alone requires 20 ingredients so lately it's been easier/cheaper to buy the jarred sauce.

I made barbecue.  We ate well and often.

A little early for the Memorial Day tribute, but I am not yet done.

Right now the grille is slow baking a Dutch oven half full of beans, with Boston style flavorings. Texas baked beans are a bit too much for my fabulous "northern" family.  :laugh:

Tomorrow morning there will be time for starting a pork roast.

Just removed the pork roast from the brine about half an hour ago.
I will get it going in about another half an hour.
Almost eleven hours on the baked beans and they are awesome. In a couple of hours the potatoes will go on the grille and inside I will start my bread machine.

Feasting today, again.

Yes. The sugary breakfast cereals were all half price at the supermarket. Frosties, Froot Loops and Coco Pops.

My kids like Coco Pops but the chocolate ones were gone. Froot Loops are not all that popular any more, parents seem more aware of the downsides of loading your kids up with a bowl of sugar and artificial colourings every morning. Not that Coco Pops are much better. My kids don't actually like Froot Loops and Frosties so I'd end up eating them (and loving it).

The white chocolate coco pops just tasted like rice bubbles, but sweeter.

Speaking of rice bubbles, I really like making traditional Strayan sweets like chocolate crackles. And coconut ice. The Indian ladies at my last job were crazy about my home made coconut ice and didn't really believe me when I told them how easy it is to make. It's a lot like traditional Indian sweets. I know the traditional versions used copha (hydrogenated coconut oil). Yeah, nah, I'm not eating that.
