malicious. I wasn't joking. I was doing
my duty to the site.

Maybe I should start a thread there called "Blow me Mr. Mark" and see if he responds.

He might be more willing to do what
you ask, if you kept it a private request.

You did make some personal insults on that thread calandale, but in your defense, you didn't make any in the beginning. I looked back on that thread and Mr. Mark's very first words on that thread were "Yeah, he can kiss my ass." and it was directed towards you. If there was a better way to start a response without getting a fight I don't know. And yes, those were his real words, see for yourself.

On one hand it would be funny to ask Mr. Mark to blow me by PM, but on another it would be totally lame to end up banned where nobody could see what happened.

I'm fresh out of sheep. I do have Mr. Mark's aforementioned ass that was ready for kissing, though. I hope that works.

I like her too. And she's going to be dangerous.
Well, in terms of what I saw as my duty. A bloody
clear sign that they're not going to maintain much
of the freedom which attracted me to the site.

Well, first off, I don't think that any of the "insults"
that I made (except for the deadly insinuation) were
beyond the kind of character judgment which one
should be making about someone in a position of
power. They were also driven by the two mods
posts in that thread - indeed, I don't think I
began accusing them of anything other than
what I could find evidence of, in their writing
within the thread. If QM hadn't joined in, SPOILING
for a fight, it would have never gone where it did.
I'm used to dealing with MrMark, and he tends to
be okay, once you can get him to blow off his initial
steam.

My main goal is to provide a place for people with Asperger's to communicate and grow as individuals. I hate moderating as it generally is a reactive thing that takes away some of the time I want to use to build new features that give everyone a better user experience.

I no longer have the time to follow every issue on the forums and have to trust the WP staff; even though they make mistakes. I see people banned and I don't always know why they're banned, but with 14,000 members, knowing about every single incident that occurs on the site is impossible. I don't ban anyone but obvious spammers myself, just because I always empathize with what it's like to be banned from somewhere. its a yucky feeling.

Anyway, I try to let the moderators make their own decisions.

I want to vouch for Alex not being that bad of a guy. And most of the bannings I've seen on WP stemmed from people not thinking about it as a support site, which is what it is. That being said, I have no idea what the hell you did to get banned.

every fucking benefit of the doubt,
hoping that he had changed from what
those here had experienced of him.

I've seen evidence of outright lies and manipulations
on his part. And I'm rather inclined to believe that
HE hasn't changed. My only hope was that the
direction that he wanted the site to be managed
in was going to remain what he stated when I first
joined. It's obvious that this is simply not the case.

The reason the trolling escalated was more to do with the fact that a mod was acting in his own interest and even admitted it, rather than acting to the aims of the site. So the site became a bit of a joke site, especially after cal was banned. It was not really surprising that it got trolled. That is like a trolling wet dream.

For one thing, I'd tend to think that most people would inflate their income if they were going to post it on myspace, especially a guy like Alex who's probably pretty desperate for a chick. For another, why would a college student have a house unless it was his parents house, in which case money he got from wrongplanet would have nothing to do with how expensive it was? As far as I know, that site's been up barely three years, hardly long enough for it to affect a major real estate decision like that.

Unfortunately, it's clear that the people trolling now are either the recently banned or their supporters.

0_equals... is not really banned, nor is he particularly a
supporter; he and I had some pretty heavy discussions
over site policy. He's just another (less aggravating)
gadfly. There were a couple of people interested in
joining in, but too scared of the ban. None of them
seem to realize the power of an uprising like that.
It worked before, for a reason.
