I don't like thinking of myself as middle aged, either.
I look in the mirror and I see a fifty year old man. I'm OK with that. I have earned every beautiful grey hair the hard way, coerced every delightful wrinkle into being and most of the lines I see, deepen when I smile, but not when I frown.  That makes me the winner.

... but to think that I may have, yet, fifty more years to brave, gives me a case of vapors only a débutante could fake. I am more likely to think of this time as home stretch, for my sanity.
