For over a hundred years he would fight anyone trying to live there and kick their ass until a hero came and kicked his ass. It is a great Saga.

Does your heart swell with Scottish pride when you read it? No, many of my family left Scotland ahead of lynch mobs or threats due to having wiped out enemies in "not the Highland way" AFAIK. They went to N. Ireland before coming to "the Colonies". http://www.historic-uk.com/HistoryUK/Scotland-History/HighlandClans.htm Most of the rest of my ancestors were here by 1635 so I feel thoroughly attached to this continent.

My mother's people came here from Ireland in the 1800s (though if her great-grandmother was indeed part Native, obviously some of the family was here long before). My father's parents arrived from Austria in the early 1900s.
