Have you tried soaking raisins in rum before adding them to the oatmeal raisin cookies? Really tasty.Rum... Actually these were hermit cookies, and I increased the molasses from 1.5 cups to 2 cups. It made them softer, chewier and more flavorful. I am still happy about that, it made my day.

My mother phoned me about one half hour ago. Friday she had called and told me that a blockage had been found in my dad's heart and that he was going in today @ the VA Hospital in Reno for more in depth tests and a decision on stints or open heart surgery. If open heart surgery had been needed they were going to fly him to UCSF Medical Center in SF or Stanford in Palo Alto. As it turns out the initial tests were wrong and he has no blockage. When my dad does die I will get back a nice Maori carved nephrite jade neck amulet, a Sig 239 and a derringer that I gave him. But I am in no hurry to get those items back.
Met little sis. Things going great. She has done great things with the appartment. I assumed I would have to pay for everything, but her and her friends have got it looking amazing with no money. One of her friends parents were throwing out an old suite. Another friend took it into college and re-uppholstered it.It looks great. They repainted the whole flat, and put down off-cuts of carpet. The only thing I need to do for her is get her a new kitchen.I am very, very proud of her
Yes. I might speak to her and see if she she would like to start her own business. I like to help her, and it would have the added advantage of really pissing off my parents

Shes only 17 but she seems to be quite mature. I cant believe how much she seems to have grown up since I last spent time with her. Im sure shell start to prove me wrong, but at the moment shes realy seeming great. I never thought she would be able to run a business, but now i think she mightbe able to.
