Have tried that for a while, when he still lived here. Did take away lots of the mutual tensions. But also made that he stayed and stayed and stayed. (combined with other things, way too long a story)

And now I have a significant relationship. It may be long distance, but, it is very significant.
And even if I wasn't involved with someone. It is very important that I maintain a distance from my ex. For my own sake. I'd get suck in into all his depressions and problems. It's a huge no go area for me.
