That is awesome. It really means a lot for little ones to have something that is their own, something they have some say in.
I don't remember if you had mentioned it before Hyke, are your girls on the spectrum?
The 11 year old certainly is. The 8 year old does have huge meltdowns and occasional mute-nes things. And is more at a loss when routine changes than her sister, yet, she also has the best social skills of all of us. So, I'm not sure of her, and not ready to get her through the diagnostic process. But think I will do that when things have settled down a bit more.
I was in a spelling bee once, but I was so nervous I was the first person eliminated at the state level over a word I really knew how to spell.
I hope she has lots of fun and isn't nervous at all.
It's different from a spelling bee. She has to write things down. A story with difficult words will be read, and all the kids have to simultaneously write it down. So it's more like an exam/test. And she loves doing tests. If the surroundings don't freak her out, she'll do fine. But first we have to see if she may participate. Sure hope so. She loved doing the first round in school.
