I had a new student who was very pleasant and easy to teach.
Not to be sexist, but adolescent boys are so much less of a pain in the rear than adolescent girls.

Also, I've had a cold.  When I'm sick, my stimming stops.  Starting up again is one of the first signs that I'm getting better. 5 minutes ago, I noticed that my foot was tapping.

Next time I'm sick, I'll have to try to notice if I still rock while listening to music!  :orly:

Being absorbed in listening to music is another of the few things that will get me to sit still.

Interesting, I like to rock while listening, I have to move at least a little.
I also make videos for the songs in my head!  :green:

My first visit to the new dentist went better than expected!  First of all, he is the nicest
dentist I've ever met, friendly and sunny and patient with my questions.  X-rays confirmed
that my molar is cracked and a root canal is recommended.  The dentist referred me to
an endodontist for that, someone he assures me will put me at ease and do a good job,
and he prescribed me antibiotics for the infection I assume has set into the tooth,
and 800mg Motrin for the pain that I've been bitching about since last week.
I'm so glad I have a dentist I feel comfortable with.  WIN!  :2thumbsup:

A nice dentist. Excellent. :)

That really is the important part for me.  :)  I don't mind the pain of dental work,
I just need to feel at ease with the dentist because I tend to ask a lot of questions.

I remembered to give my sister a wake-up call this morning.  Then I went back to bed.

It's funny to find out that Helsinki wasn't founded until the 1550's.

Why? It's older than where I live.

I have this European worship personality.  I imagine that all the towns in Europe have been there since time immemorial, although I know better.  I can't get excited about new places and buildings.  Or people for that matter.

Depends on where in Europe. In Sweden, I think that we don't have many cities older than the 11th century. We do have settlements older than that, of course, but nothing like, say, ancient Egypt or the Roman Empire.

I think that there were people living where Helsinki is for long before the foundation of the city. Quite a few of the kings then simply pointed at existing settlements when founding new cities.

My childhood home (my mum still lives there) is a place called Northfield and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086  here is it's entry
Quote
William [FitzAnsculf] holds Northfield. Alfwold held it. 6 hides. . . . In the demesne 1 ploughteam. A priest & 7 villeins & 16 bordars & 6 cottars with 13 ploughteams, 5 more ploughteams would be possible. 2 slaves & 1 female slave. Woodland half a league long & 3 furlongs wide. In the time of King Edward it was worth 8 pounds, now 30 shillings.

There is some evidence of bronze and stone age settlers,  and much roman evidence.
blah blah blah
