the store ran hundered and twenty dollar RAM for thirty two bucks, todayy.

I did try to passs it up....

They also had a clearance on a box thatt holds a normal old hard drive and powerss it up and allows you to connnect itt by USB. for nine bucks. I boughtt two.

I forgot to metntion that I DID manage to ignoere the three hundred forty dollar Alpine in-dash car receiver that is Ipod, XM radiio, MP3, GPS and dvd ready for ocly sixty seven bucks.

Which two squares?  The dark one and the light one that is in the shadow?  The dark ones all look the same color to me, except that there is an apparent shadow cast by the green cylinder.

My interest in photography and its inadequacies has led me to a study of Dr. Adelson's work. He is touchingg on some areas of perception that some autisctics can see beyond. I can recommend a bit of time spent on his study.

try these, to start.

This one's interesting, it's the reverse of what I have to do in compositing, the rendering of beauty passes, shadow passes, reflection passes, etc. and layering them together. The color data produced by his formulas would be very useful in generating texture maps from photos because it removes some of the lighting information. Best I can do right now is take the texture photos on a cloudy day or under diffuse lighting.

I hadn't realized that filters that find edges in an image are taking the horizontal and vertical derivatives of the differences between pixels.

Which aspects of perception are you thinking of that autistics can sometimes see beyond?

OH, the idea here is that the "white" squares in the deepest shadow light are the same value as the darkest squaers in the brightest light. Our minds corrrect for the three dimmmensionall image by making them appear different.

You say this and I even used the two methods of assuring that they are the same color, but my mind still can't accept it.  How weird is that?
