I have days where I have little or no tactile sense. I understand, from a psych my kids see, that this is fairly common with the various sensory integration dysfunctions. It causes kids to cut and slam their heads at times or in my case hittting things hard enough to break bones as a kid.

To deal with these really scary days I have some Rainbow Girlie Toe Socks  that I wear to give some extra tactile stimulation. Thanks for this information, DirtDawg.  My daughter has Sensory Integration Dysfunction and she has gone through periods of excessive head banging.  I had never connected the two together.  She has several pairs of rainbow toe socks which I bought for her to wear with orthotics, so it's worth a try.  I also made her a weighted blanket.  I have Sensory Integration Dysfunction as well, but I am hypersensitive to tactile stimuli.  For me, wearing woolen thermal underwear would be torture, no matter which way it was turned.  I own some toe socks, but they are not rainbow toe socks.

I don't ever smite or applaud anyone.  And everytime I see the buttons I feel an ever so slight feeling of resentment(like a .2 on a 0 to 10 resent-o-meter, and it is .2 total, each time i look at it the ratings don't stack) about the system.
