I think since people generally learn better how to socialize with members of their own gender, and since they generally do not have an interest to get into the pants of members of their own gender, they tend to meet and get to know a lot more members of their gender than the opposite gender, giving the impression that they meet more smart and interesting members of the same gender, and in a few cases, make them regret not being gay.

To be honest, I had no idea whatsoever who the hell she was married to, or even if she was married to someone. I generally don't give a damn about celebrities, the exception being those who actually accomplish something of significance, rather than get famous by being slimy idiots who crank out their crappy contributions to culture.
