I wish I could help you with that, but other than saying tear them a new asshole I don't know how to get you to do it.

I've recently realized what I want from confrontation, and it isn't to make people fear me.
Rather, I want to speak up for myself instead of remaining complacent and invisible. It is NOT okay for people to hurt me.

'You're a real piece of work, aren't you?' is a nice passive aggressive piece to have in one's arsenal. Walking away after can offer a nice feeling of smugness as well.

My personal favorite passive-aggressive comment is "It's a bit MUCH."
Perfect way to imply criticism where none may be warranted.

Thinking about what my CB therapist told me about human behaviour.

I often wish that getting the right answer was enough.

My daughter's schooling is now getting into the kind of mathematical calculation that must be proven correct, for her to attain credit for doing the calculation.  She is at tears for not being able to explain to the satisfaction of her instructors, within the system defined by the mathematical process in question, how she always gets the right answers. She does not want to go through the torture of re-stating things she already knows at this point in her education.

Yes it does.

I understand her instructors to a point, however. There will come a time when the right way of approaching a maths problem is vital to solving it. The best teachers can see very early on if your way of looking at the problem is the right one, but only if you show what steps you take.

That said, being forced to show your steps every time is just counter-productive. It hinders instead of helping.
