I am thinking that I can make forward progress by using my router (WARNING: This does NOT refer to any computer network device, just so you know. I hate computers, anyway. I just want the fucking things to work as they promised) to cut through each layer, even though the weather is too stupid to glue up the other layers.

I hope the neutral cure silicone sealant I used won't harm the critters in my vivariums.  I have plenty of aquarium silicone, but it releases acetic acid as it cures and I was putting in acrylic shelves and partitions and didn't want the acetic acid attacking the acrylic.  I think it should be okay as long as I let it fully cure before adding any animals, and I'll do a canary test with some invertebrates before adding anything important.
