Maybe you can just go for a little while, and eat lots of chips with salsa! (Or am I thinking of the wrong kind of salsa?  :laugh:  )
Then you can go home having done something that made your friend happy, and you can reward yourself by relaxing with films.

I'm also meeting the new girlfriend of a girl I used to have a thing with. Joy :laugh:

Maybe you can avoid the dancing by faking a limp! Wear shoes that are a bit too small
or otherwise uncomfortable, and you might not even have to fake it!  >:D

Thank you! I try! Ordinarily I wouldn't advise faking a limp,  but I understand how uncomfortable it is to be pressured to dance,
especially in close proximity with someone with whom you don't feel at ease, so if you can back out of it tactfully, why not?   :2thumbsup:

You can always have a splitting headache that started earlier in the day (if you see her before the party or call her with the news).  Stay for 15 or so minutes and look quite pained.
