Well, at least I got taken off the low-income electricity rates toward the end of the summer. I coudln't have made it without the a/c this year.
The what?
I was on discounted rates from when I was a student and didn't have a full-time job. Now, I still qualify for
some assistance (ex. heating), but not electricity- I make a piss-poor salary now, but it's more than I made when I worked part time at a campus-funded job.
If your main point was "Americans are spoiled because we have so many programs to help poor people," then yeah, probably. Haven't
felt spoiled lately (except by my boyfriend) but I have what I need, which is more than many have.
