Making tea, without pouring me a cup after that, is a habit I would like to change.

:agreed: I do the same. Or sometimes I make it, get sidetracked, and forget it's there.  :facepalm2:

No, he said he has a meeting he can't cancel. The problem is, I have no family here. The closest is 5 hours away. My neighbours (who are awesome) are out because the wife went back to work. All of my friends who know monkeyboy work during the day. I need to hire a respite worker who can work with him 1 day a week so I know that if I need to make appts, to make them on that day. But again, takes money and I don't have access to the funds. So, would make sense to go to the lawyer about that but that's why I need a sitter for Friday in the first place.  :facepalm2:

I'm in the same boat here, child-care wise.

If there were something that really engages him, I wonder if you could bring him along or get someone to watch him that he doesn't know as well.

I have brought my daughter along to some appointments with her portable DVD player and headphones with a DVD she has been begging to see, but you really wouldn't want him to hear any of this stuff.

He's old enough to sit in a waiting room by himself with his DS and headphones, but I know it would hugely stress him out knowing where we're at and why. I can't put him in that position.  :(

Yes, you're right, of course.

Can you think of anyone to ask to stay with him for an hour or two?

Haven't come up with anyone yet. Everyone I know works full time during the day. The one friend who is free is in her second year in school for midwifery and just started her on call placements which means if any of her clients go into labour, she has to be there within 30 mins. So she can't come out my way. I'll keep thinking.
